ABOUT OUR ASSESSORS

We Don't Just Find Physicians We Vet Them

The quality of an IME is only as strong as the evaluating physician. That's why our recruiting process is among the most rigorous in the industry.

Every physician in our network undergoes a multi-tiered credentialing and vetting process that includes:

  • Verification of board certification and active licensure

  • Review of professional standing and disciplinary history

  • Assessment of medico-legal experience and report quality

  • Reference checks within the legal and insurance communities

  • An internal review of sample reports for clarity, objectivity, and defensibility

We don't simply populate a directory. We build relationships with physicians whose opinions hold up in deposition, arbitration, and court, and who understand the standard of independence the process demands.

Our network is continuously monitored and refreshed.

How it works.

01

Tell us about your file.

Share your case type, the specialty you need, and the region. You can call us, email, or use the referral form.

02

We match the right specialist.

REI identifies the most appropriate assessor from our credentialed network — matched to your file's needs and location.

03

We manage the rest.

Scheduling, examinee notification, document handling, and report delivery. You'll have a single point of contact throughout.

Reserve a date before you have the file details.

Not ready to submit a full referral? You can hold a date for 48 hours with no claimant information required. Lock in the slot while you finalize the file. No obligation to proceed.

Why REI's traveling evaluator model works.

Access where it doesn't exist locally.

In regions where credentialed specialists aren't available for IME work, REI brings them there. Your file doesn't stall because of geography.

Flexible scheduling, confirmed in advance.

Clinic dates are confirmed and communicated weeks before deployment. You know exactly when, where, and who — well before your file needs to move.

One team manages everything.

From the moment you hold a date to the moment the report is delivered, REI handles all coordination — notification, logistics, documentation, and follow-up.

What legal and insurance professionals say about the traveling evaluator program.

Questions about the traveling evaluator program.

How does the 48-hour hold work?

You select a date and hold it for 48 hours. No claimant information is needed to place the hold. You'll receive a confirmation. Before the 48 hours are up, you either complete the referral details to confirm the booking, or release the slot — no obligation either way.

What happens after I hold a date?

You'll receive an email confirmation with the assessment details, your contact at REI, and instructions for completing the referral. Your dedicated team member is available throughout.

Can I reschedule after holding?

Yes, within reason. If your file needs to move, contact your REI team member directly. We'll work with you to find an alternative.

If I miss these dates, when will REI be in my region next?

Clinic deployment schedules vary by region and demand. The fastest way to stay informed is to join the priority list for your region — you'll be the first to know when new dates are added.
